ABOUT MONICA

My father, Alonzo Edward Sparks is the recipient of the Purple Heart as a Korean War Veteran and my mother, Joyce Ann Sparks is retired public school teacher. They adopted my twin sister and I at the age of 8 out of foster care, so I can tell you that life started out very rough. God blessed my parents to raise me to live life through the lens of a grateful, giving heart and service to others is part of my DNA. I am married to a wonderfully supportive husband, Lonnie Polk, Jr. who works as a Laser Operations Manager at a local manufacturing company and we share two amazing teenage boys, Todd and Tyler. I have faithfully served to contribute to my community through my actions as a servant leader, and now I am eager to put my experience to work on behalf of all the citizens of Kent County, to serve as a Kent County Commissioner representing District 12.
